Granny's gone and done it again

Lol, yeah. I did it only my senior year, but I lettered and got a big trophy for "most improved." :lau

hahahaa, so how many flags did you need to burn ? Not supposed to touch the ground.   I like watching that though. Im sure it takes a ton of skill.

That's just American flags. ;) I practiced super hard. Two hours after school every day, then another hour or two at home. We had a chimney and I'd stand with my back to the bricks so I could keep my twirls perfectly flat. Very important for our routine that year. In practice I hit the bell of a French horn, just nicked it, but it popped the mouthpiece up and busted the girls nose.

We also had a "percussion solo" where all the brass and woodwinds put down their regular instruments did percussion things. We had 6ft tall PVC pipes covered in sparkly glitter tape that we twirled all around and spun over our heads. I had giant muscles.

wow, I bet you did ! I wasnt thinking of other flags or pipes. Thats awesome and you worked your tail off.

I never did anything impressive with my life. I won the 500 meter dash at school because thats all I ever did was walk or run. I knew how to pace myself. that was 8th grade I think. I wasnt in anything , there was no ribbons just gym . My sister did though she won tons of ribbons for being athletic. I was very proud of her. I couldnt even tell you what my grades were except for my last yr. I was failing math. 9th grade.

I think I had 8-10 flags total? We'd use one, trade it off, do another, and at one point we had one in each hand.

I had so much fun. Sometimes I still try to toss brooms and things. They don't have the counter weight so it doesn't really work. I should practice it for a party trick. :D

I think I have the flag silk, just need the pole. I used a big ugly metal one for practice. The other girls picked pretty fiberglass ones for practice. Very light. The band director got mad that the girls couldn't wrangle the show flags and made every switch to the big ugly metal ones. They were all crying in the next practice. I just stood there grinning.
