Granny's gone and done it again

I really do like a traditional turkey meal. I just hate having to clean the house and worry if everyone is comfortable and having to get all the food done on time. My kitchen is not big, so it's always a challenge to squeeze it all in. Hubs is wonderful, he always helps. And the leftovers! Half day of cooking gets meals for a few days, so I consider it an investment.

The only benefit to a bad back is being excused from all that, but given the choice, I'd rather cook and not be in pain. Usually the cooking is what causes the back pain. Arms held out in front doing dishes and cooking is the problem. I'm good for about 30 mins at a time, and have to go lie on the floor when the spasms start.

I usually have help when the dishes part comes. Of course all the prep and pre-meal dishes are already done. I also have a 1 person kitchen. can reach stove top /oven and fridge just by turning around.

Doing stuff ahead of time is not my strong suit. After all, what are deadlines for if not to meet them at the last possible second. I always accept the challenge.

Thats terrible. Do you have cement floors ? How about this, go to wally world in the bathroom stuff and get you a memory foam rug or 2. they are water proof . Stand on them doing dishes and one by the stove.

most of the prep I do the night before as I need the morning of the day of to do the pies and get Boyd ready and the dressing. And you have to do the jello salad the night before . Orange jello, pineapple, celery, carrots and pecans. I like it with miracle whip topping that has been thinned down with milk or cream.

Love the cooking part hate the house cleaning BUT Vickie is coming in Tuesday to help with the house cleaning.

Quote: No concrete here. Sometimes having one foot up on a low stool will help, but then I am standing mostly on one foot, and neither foot likes that for very long. Best thing for me would be to get back into shape. I used to play tennis a lot, and my back got really strong and rarely gave me trouble. Having 2 babies put an end to that.
