Granny's gone and done it again

Hi all, Just catching up. Fun day today. I am tired . I got my new rub med. today for my hips and back and it seemed to help.
H20 I got your card today. Thank you !
Evening, Granny! So glad it sounds like the new rub might bring you some relief......especially after what sounds like a tiring day. Now, go get some rest!

I've had itchy ears and scratchy throat all day. Need to follow my own advice of tea and honey and a scarf. DH has a bunch of friends coming over and this place looks like an episode of hoarders. There are six trash bags of toys waiting to be sorted for donation right by the fireplace. In direct sight of the door and all "common" areas in the home.

We can't postpone because he volunteered us to be a "jumping off point" for a backpacking trip. I love seeing those boys BUT they'd better mind their manners tomorrow.

I didn't get anything done today because we met with my parents, bro and sil, aunt and her boys, other aunt and her "adopted" DD (and her two kids) and other aunt's gd and my grandma. It was a table of 17.

Afterwards the four campingshaws and aunt+boys + other aunts gd went bowling and then played mini golf. So it was a day much better spent than staying home and cleaning.

Here's a pic of my grandma (we call her Donny) and her grands and great grands. We're missing the baby because he got fussy and was in the car with his mom.

Ages (L to R): 4, 9, 11, 86(?), 4, 11, 7. Baby is 2.

Oh, Camping, I hear you on the feeling it coming on -- DH has been dying of a man cold since late Christmas Day, and as of this afternoon I can feel it finally catching me too......sounds like tea and honey all around. Move the bags into a closet or something, you can drag them back out after and sort through them once you get past feeling not 100%.
Awesome picture!!!

There was a thread I was reading about breeding rocks. I can't find it. I would wait for the next big show and go talk to the breeders. See who is willing to share. Do you want them for showing or just for keeping? The birds from Good Shepherd are pretty good looking to me, although I see some hens with bumpy backs. You really need to read the standard and look at the parent stock closely. A well bred barred rock is a sight to behold. Very beautiful. Speckledhen (on BYC) might know of some good sources.
X 2 - - find a poultry show in your area, and go see the birds -- find the folks exhibiting the birds that you want and start networking. Most poultry folks are more than happy to talk about their birds and willing to help someone get into the shared passion.

YAY Jane!

Our mortgage woes continue. The lenders are holding up the documents on one person's approval. Why they didn't have this poop settled before is beyond me. Escrow, seller's realtor and us are all going mad.

Seriously???? This has just been one big clusterduck from the get go for you -- so looking forward to the day you can post that it is ALL DONE and you are in your new home (not nearly as much as you are, I know)

Got good news today. Our morgage has been modified. All we have to do is get signatures noterized & send payment. Payment is half what it was before.
Chickens only laid 4 eggs today. Cooking ham & potato soup for supper. Smell of onions is making me sooooooo hungry.
Oh, Jane, that is AWESOME news!!!! I am so happy it came through for you and that will be a HUGE help to have the payment cut in half!

I would start with the grandparent's stuff maybe you won't recognize it and can purge more and hopefully as you move closer to your own stuff generationally speaking it we get easier. And if not you now have room to store the "treasures"

Great approach!

Just talked with my brother. We are going to 6 Flags tomorrow to go on the roller coasters!! I'm glad he called, because I was thinking it was next week.

We'll see if I come out of this in one piece. Could be my last hurrah!

I got a couple more Christmas cards tonight! Thanks everyone!

I wanted to say THANK YOU for all of the wonderful Christmas cards -- it was such a treat to get each and every one of them and be able to line them up on the mantle (we have a mantle this year, lol). Each one brought a smile to my face!

good evening well I have an unexpected house guest.

It's Rod and Cork they got to with in between 1 and 2 miles of home and 48 st is still blocked with snow drifts. He was going to see if our "good neighbor" would just go thru it with one of his big tractors and sort of break up/compact/blaze a trail but he wasn't around.

Christmas was wonderful - this is the first holiday we have had with family since DS was just shy of 2 years old! DH's parents came over late in the morning and we spent the whole day just being together here at the house -- MIL had asked if I would be okay with her making dinner ( initially I was supposed to be going to my mom/sister's place all day on the 24th so she was thinking I'd be too tired to want to spend the 25th cooking, that plan got scratched, though, due to travel concerns), so I didn't even have to cook (didn't have the heart to tell her I had already bought the ham for Christmas, we'll be having that later this week, lol). This year it truly was about the "presence" rather than the presents, and it felt so good! I'll have delayed Christmas with my side of the family on January 7th --- we put it off a bit as travel on the 24th would have been a nightmare and now sister is starting at home dialysis and they wanted to have a couple of weeks to really get into a good routine for that.

The only thing missing was DD -- this was the first Christmas in her life that I didn't get to see her at some point -- I'm used to splitting the holiday break with her flying out to be with her dad, so sometimes our Christmas was a few days before or after the actual date, but we still had a Christmas with her. I was bumming pretty hard about that, but then we got to skype with her and her DF ----- and, they informed me that my Christmas present from them is going to be a *little* late ---- they are coming to visit just in time for my birthday in February!!!!!!!

Hoping to hear back on the job I interviewed for week before last -- I do know they went as far as talking to my references so that's a step further than last time I interviewed with this particular department.....hoping that's a good sign.
