There were NO chicks at TSC today. All the bins are ready for them but no babies to be found . CB found my SLW chick dead behind the hay. Figured that.

Don't ever buy fish there!. Far better to buy from Pet Smart, or a privately owned pet shop, after you've seen how they keep the store & their tanks. Never buy out of a talk with dead or sluggish fish in it.

I probably put them out too early. I put them with some bigger babies and they probably scared it back there then it was a tight fit and it didnt/couldnt back out. CB pulled it away from the wall. So now its just a nice hiding spot.
I'm sure it was just nosy and got stuck. It happens sometimes. My cousins fair calf got his head stuck under a wooden fence. He wasn't the brightest.
survival of the fittest ?I would guess more of not having a mom to show it the way I think.
As long as I have had chickens I have never seen a mama raise a clutch . I have tried but they end up dying . .
I have a cat that will have kittens and as soon as they hit the week mark she's done with them. Can't tell you how many of her kittens we've bottle fed. Btw we've set up a spay appointment for her 2x and poof she comes up missing. I gave up last year on it.![]()
