Granny's gone and done it again

Toms a1c is 11.2 horrible. She is sending both of us back to school and Im not even her patient. Seen a couple uprooted trees in vevey. Nothing major. Its amazing how they just uproot. . Ground gets so wet and tree top heavy they just come out of the ground. roots and all leaving a crater hole in the yard.
Came home and made fish and fries. Some shrimp for myself. yum !!! Now the tired kicks in.

Hope you get some rest.

I have been wanting chicks from graceful chicken. She is on Facebook. I just can't justify spending that much on chicks. I still don't know what I am doing.
She was on our way home. She is getting rid of her Swedish flower and had two left fo 15 each. 8 weeks. One pullet and one cock.
They are very cute!

Just figured out why its been peaceful here. My phone is shut off. has been for 2 days. Sure hope I dont have an emergency before I can get it back on.
Peace and quiet is good.

Hey all, just popping in while I have a quiet minute (haven't been many to find the last few days but I am NOT complaining at all, lol) -- it has been an absolute whirlwind here, but one I am loving every minute of. Everyone else is in bed so I figured it was a good time to steal a little "me" time and catch up on BYC.....so off to try to read up........

They have no chickens

Wait - what? How do people live in such a sad state of affairs????
not bad at all.

I need to go to bed. Cant keep my eyes oen..
Have a good rest, dear Granny!

Feed store has bins out. Can't look, don't need chicks, have to downsize... No ducks either, Bubbles... No, you don't need more sultans or games...

LOL - my mantra of late. I did promise DD that if we aren't able to buy chicks while she is here we will at least go look at the chicks, so hopefully I can remind myself that I am NOT READY and NOT SETUP to brood them so that should keep me plenty strong --- I'm going to look at it as a chance to scope out just what is available this year....figure if I spy out the chicks at the store near mom/sister's place then when I go to the one closer to me to actually my birds if they don't have what I want I'll know if I can get them by making a trip down their way. They (mom/sis) gave me a gift card to the store(s - it's a chain) in question for my birthday for the specific purpose of funding my chick purchase......total enablers!!!!

Ummm...I now have a dealer...my little sister went to work for Tractor Supply. Did you know that they give you discount cards for family members if you work for Tractor Supply? I mean, really, my chicken addiction got a bit out of control last year (granny remembers) and my sister dangles a card where I can buy chicks at a discounted price in front of me?
To top it off, my DH has caught the bug. Every morning he goes down to the coop and talks to the chickens. He collects the scrap bucket from his mom's house daily, when he goes to lunch, brings it home and visits with "Big Red, Big Man, and The Girls" every evening.
Just last week I caught him circling chicken breeds that he would like in MY hatchery magazine!
To top it off, I'd been clean for a year and my other dealer showed up at work today. I caved and bought a half a case of Thin Mints and Samoas. The cute smiles, green vests, and nostalgia gets me every year.
Now, if I can hide the Girl Scout Crack Cookies from the teenagers I spawned...

h2o, thank you for sharing those pics! It looks so pretty! And your new additions are quite lovely as well!
