Granny's gone and done it again

Wait - what?  How do people live in such a sad state of affairs????
Have a good rest, dear Granny!

LOL - my mantra of late.  I did promise DD that if we aren't able to buy chicks while she is here we will at least go look at the chicks, so hopefully I can remind myself that I am NOT READY and NOT SETUP to brood them so that should keep me plenty strong --- I'm going to look at it as a chance to scope out just what is available this year....figure if I spy out the chicks at the store near mom/sister's place then when I go to the one closer to me to actually my birds if they don't have what I want I'll know if I can get them by making a trip down their way.   They (mom/sis) gave me a gift card to the store(s - it's a chain) in question for my birthday for the specific purpose of funding my chick purchase......total enablers!!!!

Is it wilco? We stopped at a couple wilco s on our way home. They had a lovely assortment of chicks.

Morning all...we made it thru the storms..straight line winds.they did alot of damage.pikeville got it worse than we did...my net and cable have been off but it was a blessing that my power stayed on..lots of hard rain too..hope everyone else is ok....My baby chicks are growing like weeds..

kwhites are you here..haven't talked to you but sure glad you are ok now..my great grandson had that surgery the day he was born, his little chest still looks bad from it like a bone sticking out in his chest..he is ok now but has to have more surgery when he is older...

Ummm...I now have a dealer...my little sister went to work for Tractor Supply. Did you know that they give you discount cards for family members if you work for Tractor Supply? I mean, really, my chicken addiction got a bit out of control last year (granny remembers) and my sister dangles a card where I can buy chicks at a discounted price in front of me?
To top it off, my DH has caught the bug. Every morning he goes down to the coop and talks to the chickens. He collects the scrap bucket from his mom's house daily, when he goes to lunch, brings it home and visits with "Big Red, Big Man, and The Girls" every evening.
Just last week I caught him circling chicken breeds that he would like in MY hatchery magazine!
To top it off, I'd been clean for a year and my other dealer showed up at work today. I caved and bought a half a case of Thin Mints and Samoas. The cute smiles, green vests, and nostalgia gets me every year.
Now, if I can hide the Girl Scout Crack Cookies from the teenagers I spawned...

hahaha lol
My Dh talks to my girls now too!

Great grandson? You can't possible be a great g ma! wow!
Poor little guy...babies heal so much better/faster than us old timers.

You guessed it, lol. Love me some Wilco - actually worked for them at two different farmstore locations many years ago.

Gotta love discounts, don't ya? We get a fantastic discount at Wilco as my mom retired from their fuel division (I didn't work at the retail side long enough to get the lifetime discount perk) - makes it entirely too tempting/easy to talk yourself into making a purchase, though, you are right.
Sounds like you've had a rough go of it on both sides of your addictions - and lots of enabling from those around you

So glad you came through safely - those storms are no joke and not something I miss at all.

hahaha lol

Nothing better than a "big bad manly man" going all soft over chickens......

Mornings, Talked to Camping for a min. this am. her wifi sucks . They were at Grand Cayman where all the wild chickens were running around and I tried to talk her into putting a couple chicks in her pocket but I think that was a no go. LOL
I slept good 10 hrs.
Mare, sorry you couldnt buy your chicks while DD was with you. Maybe next go around.
I have woke Robert and waiting on him to start a long shopping day.

I had never seen Wilco before. We stopped in brush prairie to see my sister and there was a wilco by the restaurant we met at. We went to look around and I found the cutest kids boots.

I love their hick assortment. Everything was so clean and nice. Wish we had them in California. I really don't care for tractor supply.

did they fall down after hatching ?  what bator is this ? Love the blue light ..

Yep. They all fell down. The turner was still going. I never upped the humidity. This was a totally dry hatch. It was so humid here with all the rain I never added water. I had a good hatch rate 16 eggs. 12 hatched. One was stuck I helped a little last night. Not sure it will make it. Three more eggs have no external pup. I don't think they are alive.
