That's why I want muscovies!  No wait, that's not true.  I want them because I just want some ducks but no quacking and fly eating will help convince others that I NEED them.

If I had my own pond I would for sure. The swimming pool just wasnt cutting it.  The guineas are good too .

Mine chose the farm over the pond. Maybe they don't need water like true ducks? My neighbor has them on pasture. No pond at all on her property.

I think muscovies are more geese like that way. I have an old stock tank that I have been plotting to turn into a little pool for them. Dig it into the hill partway so the can walk right in, but on the downhill side have the tank up on bricks so I can drain and clean it easily.

I will say their flying is impressive. They can can jump from the ground and clear a 6ft fence easy. Only a few of my chickens can cross it.
