Granny's gone and done it again

I THINK the vinegar in the milk is making buttermilk

Yep - I used it as a cheat just the other day when I went to make finger steaks for the kids and realized I was without buttermilk for the marinade.

I guess I will go see if I can teach Tom how to use a glue gun.
Good luck-- keep your fingers (and all other body parts for that matter) well clear!!!!

Sorry....I dozed off.....old folks do that a lot.
No, I don't, unless sausage patties in the nuker count.
LOL - you sound like my FIL---on both counts.

wish mine were little again.

They grow up SOO fast -- everyone tells you that when you have that first baby and you just don't know how true it is until you blink your eyes and your "babies" are all grown up and it just went by too d*mn fast.

Both of my kids are still home. DS turns 18 this month and DD just turned 16 at the first of the year.

My youngest just turned 16 too -- now the fun of teaching him to drive begins

Before I left for work yesterday afternoon I posted a recipe I found on FB to my DD's timeline for an almond amaretto pound cake. I was being a smart donkey and asked her to make it.
After a full shift of Murphy's Law combined with the effects from the full moon, I come home to a clean kitchen and...wait for it...a fresh almond amaretto pound cake with an amaretto glaze.
She usually makes box cakes, and this is her first from scratch cake. She knocked it out of the ball park.
I'm a proud momma.

Gold star for her!!!!! What a great kid - especially having cleaned up after herself.
