yup, Takes 2 weeks if your swapping roos to make sure they are fertilized by the right one .

Might leave a egg with her. It's warm out today so it won't freeze. I'll check back this afternoon. All eggs that should be laid have been so none should be added.

I seen a video on fb that made me think of you. It was of kids. About 30 in a gated area hopping around.

We got new cabinets for the kitchen & dh & me spent 4 hours putting in 2 of the 11 of them. Finally got every thing level & screwed in. No wall or floor in our kitchen is level & we knew it before we started. Didn t feed chickens yesterday so 2 pens helped themselves to the eggs. Ban on selling chickens in alabama. Keep them penned up, have top on pens. Got to get popcorn in the pen & I will be compliant. Dang leghorn flies out the door as soon as I open it. May have to keep her in a cage within the pen. Lots of trouble for a contrary hen. Of course this is the one that gd claims & has named.

whoo thats a ton of work ! So sorry about the ban and having to keep them locked up.

YEP and pretty much the way I like my eggs as well.

Ordered Steak and Eggs a restaurant once, Rare and sunny side up Waitress goes to window bangs the bell and in a very LOUD voice shouts " I need the special mooing and clucking" She got a big tip wonderful service and personality PLUS

My luck. She did lay an egg. Seen it happen but she's settled back on the nest. Would the eggs still be fertile after almost a week with no Davey?

Closer to a month. A couple years back my hens were still fertile 3-4 weeks after my roo was killed.
