Painting myself up to look pretty so the businessmen give money was not where I saw my life headed.
Youth is the best makeup, and you've got plenty of that. Bowl them over with your smile!

Quote: That's the Aussie version of The Voice. There's a girl on the 'merican version this year that's even better IMO. The 1st show of the new season she came out with a cover of "Blue" that brought the house down & had chills up & down my spine.
That was a perfect performance from her.

Camp is a pro...got my eggs!!!!!! they are perfect none broken ..ty ty Camp !!!!!

I was out taking care of the chickens and seen an egg with the tolbunt and I said, (cause yes, I talk to my chickens) Ohh another nice tolbunt egg, are you going to let me get it ? And the mean rooster looked and me and said (cause I can talk chicken) NOPE and he put his foot down. Literally. crushed it then she giggled and ate it.
That rooster is evil.

Tom just came out of his room wanting to know who was knocking on his door.

Quote: What breed? OEGs?

They look small but they're actually really big. That's the kennel Jasper just outgrew, so jim is as tall as Jasper's back. They're legbar/Isabel leghorn. Jim has the barring gene, Topaz does not. They are both split to lavender, and as I'm writing I remember that Topaz ...something about being 50%, 25%, and 25%. I'll look it back up.

It was more Jim's tail standing up that made me think OEG, the large fowl version (not OEGBs), but now I see he was mid-crow! Games have red ears though, and your pair have Leghorn white. Is her egg blue, from the Legbar? I know you told us about them before, but I've been out of it for a few days... well, more than usual... so sorry if I'm making you repeat.

And, can you explain what Isabel means, please? Just a feather color designation? Only in Leghorns?

I saw OEG and filled in the B on my own!

Edit: posted too soon! The breeder messaged me this morning and said that's judges love to see a pop of white on the white-eared breeds.

Yes, her egg is blue from the legbar.

Isabel is the color. Apparently the breeder her leghorns came from got the color using Isabelle orpingtons. She said occasionally she'd get a great big chick that was an orp "throw back."

So what exactly is the Isabel color? I've looked at pictures, and it looks like a barred porcelain or barred lavender with yellow leakage (sometimes).

Look what came up when I googled "porcelain chicken"

In silkies and d'uccles it's porcelain I think. I think it's more the color and less the barring, because that's what this lady is work on: barred lavender. Actually, I don't totally know. It reminds me of those pastel tortoise shell cats. Like a Monet painting.
