I bet that was really scary shooting that snake. My Maple has a strong will to live. Glad you didnt shoot her. LOL I probably would of killed them all. Just in case there were another one in there ya know.
You need to redo coops to make them snake proof. What if it had been poison ? And you dont know it wasnt. Wheres the barn cats ?

I can't afford to hardware cloth everything in my life. It wasn't venemous. Chuck is too old and lazy I guess.

Honestly I thought it was a moccasin and expected the chick was dead already.

The run is 2x4 welded wire with chicken wire around the bottom, but the coop is open along the front and none of the doors seal tight. That's the same coop I found the snake in two summers ago.
