Hi Kiki. Thanks for asking. She is doing better than we expected... thinner and weaker, but still getting around. I think she really enjoys my hubs being there, so he stayed an extra night. He goes up every weekend.

I've decided I'm going to donate some honas to the silent auction and get my name/logo on the shirt.

This is the one my helper chose. There were others I liked more. Anyway, anyone who donates anything gets their name on the shirt. Minimum is $10. If someone gives $250 or more they get their company logo. That's why the lady gave me items til she reached that value.

Dummy me forget to lock up the hens last night and my Marans got killed.

Very bummed, because it didn't need to happen. Also, she was my dark egg layer, besides the old Welsummer who has never been a good layer. I really like the dark colored eggs, especially next to the green and blues.

Just so happens, the feed store has Welsummers and Barnevelder chicks in right now. hmmm... Either would be a good replacement, but I can't get just one, can I? Maybe one of each?

Has anyone ever had a hatchery Barnevelder? Are they nice?

Ally, That storm is not a nice one for sure. I was feeding chickens when it hit. I was trapped in my pole barn for about half hr. Very loud on a metal roof. After I got in the house it stopped but we got an orange sky.
