Granny's gone and done it again

My 2 chicks are doing good. They run out like they're saying high when you go in the room, then dart around terrified when you put your hand in the cage. I will start introducing soil and treats this weekend and have them eating out of my hand!

LOL How do you introduce soil ? I never thought of that.

I get a pie pan full and put it in the cage for them to scratch and explore. I will go out front and get chicken free soil since they are on non medicated starter. They will eat bits of soil and tiny pebbles, and then I can start giving them kale and aphids and little green grass seeds... they love all that stuff. A mama hen would have them out on day 3 scratching and eating everything, so I am running late. Wondering if I got a runty Wellie. She is so much smaller than Lorp.

hmm, your soil is sand right ? Mine is clay. Not sure what they could do except make mud pies .
