I did it awhile at work and the kids thought something broke. They were looking around puzzled

EE eggs hatched that pipes this morning. Yellow chick with just the slightest black.

so you got 100% hatch too ?

I have 2 more EE eggs with no pips in the bator. Of the 14 that made it to lockdown 12 have hatched.

I started with 27 but pulled 11 at day 10 because they were clears. And had 2 quitters at day 18.


Edit. Got mixed up. A SFH and a EE hatched this morning. But the SFH looks like the EE that hatched last night. So I had a mix up lol

Is it supposed to stink in the room with the bator? I didn't notice a smell when I took the dry ones out but when you walk into the room.

Well last 2 EE eggs are dead. The one had internally pipped but never external. The chick was nice looking, had Australorp markings. Yoke was fully absorbed.

The 2nd must have died after day 18 candle which was right before lockdown. AC never dipped, was a perfect circle, lots of fluid in there & tiny chick with yoke.

So total of 12 hatched, 16 were fertile of the 27. So 75% hatch rate.
