Edit: sometimes I use a dog crate. This time I blocked a section of the goat barn.

Yeah he was a bit wobbly. Then one of the day older got stuck in the crack of the pallet... can I stuff them holes with empty dog food bags.. so they won't fall in them. I'm broke so I can't buy anything.

when do you let them join the flock Camp ?

Depends on the flock and the broody. Pancake had her babies with the flock from day one. Some are more determined than others. I try to keep them in the coop at least a week or two before letting mama take them out in the yards.

Nothing you can make a fence with? Baby gates? Chicken wire wrapped around the legs of a card table? Empty dog crate?

It's the walls. But I did forget I do have some spare chicken wire.. I will star some in tomorrow. Thank you my brain has quit working. After spending 5 hours of my life on phone with irs it doesn't think too well now

you could also open the bags and staple them to the wood if you run out of wire.
I dont think its a good thing she left that baby there.

I'm really good at pointing out the obvious

You should've seen me trying to wrestle that scrap of fencing and staple it in place. Then the staples wouldn't hold, so I ripped it all out. I was almost home with chicks before I realized how easy it would be to just sandwich the fencing with a scrap board.
