Granny's gone and done it again

Yes, it's a bait type thing, so you have to leave it out where the ants are. You can put it in a lidded plastic tub and cut holes for the ants to enter, but will still prevent the cats or other larger critters from getting at the bait. Basically you are mixing peanut butter and sugar and borax. Peanut butter attracts meat eating ants and sugar attracts... well, sugar ants. Most recipes are separate, but I've mixed both. You have to find the right proportions. If I have time before I leave, I will try to find you a link, but now I have to go wash what's left of my hair.
I have made them before from flour, grease and borax .

boric acid was made to kill them. Just not sure about outside .
The poison has already killed a possum.
You just have to be creative and put the bait in something the ants can get to but not the critters. I had it in the house with the cats, and put a can over the bait with a brick on top. The bottom of the can had little dents so the ants could get under.

Got to go! :frow

I might be overthinking all of this. IDK. container with little holes and PB , mice chew through , mice get sick , birds, cats get sick ??

The amount it takes to make a mouse sick will probably not affect a cat much. It's still better than spraying the poison that gets into the soil and doesn't go away. It also gets into the water and kills all sorts of non-ant critters... anything aquatic is very susceptible. Also, it doesn't kill off the colony, so the ants will eventually find a way around.

Ok, I'm done harping. Got to go.
