Granny's gone and done it again

My CCLs are more grey than brown at this point. The largest one (Checkers), I think was older, is all grey on top, including the crest. The other 2 have black crests and black running down the back of their neck. The hackles look same as a silver bird. Oh, and technically, taupe is brownish grey. Same color as Ming! :D

I thought Ming was siamese ? White and black ?

Yeah, those are a lot prettier than most of my chickens, but I am really starting to like the CCLs. I like their greyish brownish color... taupe? and love the top knots! So cute. Lorp never turned into a cockerel, and 11 wks now, so it must be a pullet! She got a name, Spike, because of her toe nails. ouch!

Glad the lorp was a girl! Bet she'll be like my Aussie. Bossy and one of the first to lay. Ethel and her laid their first egg on the same day in the same box :wee

You didnt do that ?
Ah rats. Jane edited her post. Now no one will understand my weird post. Hahaha! Nothing new, then!

And speaking of rats, there was a dead one in the bantam coop this morning. It was just laying there like it fell asleep, but it's eyes were open. I know it's been eating chicken food, but it's was a really old rat that somehow avoided the gopher snake, so I've just let it be. No signs of any others near that coop (it's been about 2 yrs now ) so hopefully I am in the clear. Young rats will get the trap if I see any! There is another old shed near the bantam coop, and that is where it had been living. The dogs have access to that shed, so pretty sure there are no others... or won't be for long. My dogs hate the smell of rat... gets them going!

Yes! I bet she will be bossy! She was from day one! That's part of the reason I was quick to think she was a cockerel, because of her behavior... and the big pink wattles! I loved my first Lorp, very mellow, but still a dominant hen. Miss her. Glad to have another black chicken again. They are so beautiful in the sun!

Are you going to trap your garage kitties?

You should post baby pics! Do you have a variety of chickens then?

I need to go visit granny and switch some chickens, maybe drop some more kittens in her backyard for pup lol jk :lau
I do have mutts and pure breds.

Its Miss Allys Birthday today. ya'll. Little birdy told me. Also My fav. nephews b day today. LOL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MISS ALLY !!
happy birthday ally!!!!!

sounds like fun ! Make it 3xs bigger then you think you need it for that Math problem. LOL
that's right. But don't forget if you only do it 3 x you have to add another 10ft. I found it easier to just multiply it by 5.

Part Siamese. I think she's called a lynx point. Faint tabby tail, legs, and face. And very pale blue eyes.

I was still in doubt of Aussie right before she laid an egg. Ethel had to be a girl because of being a black sex link but they were both feisty as chicks!

Hahaha mom and I caught them yesterday. I should have wore gloves! They bit and scratched the crap outta me. Ended up covered in grease and stuff... but we got all of em. Took them out to the barn where they had been before and dumped them out.
