Granny's gone and done it again

Hi Red! If you have a separate place to put her for a couple of weeks until the chicks are a little bigger, it should be fine. Maybe she could raise a couple and the other can raise a couple. If she hasn't been broody for a couple of weeks, she may not accept them. Hormone cycle runs the 21 days it takes for the eggs to hatch.
Nothing cuter than seeing the babies with a mama hen.

I agree. I love watching the mama teach them what to eat . And I especially like watching them all take dirt baths. Only problem with my small broody is if I move her she will not sit and she drives herself crazy trying to get out of the cage and back to the nesting box.

I think you would put the chicks under her at night, then hopefully she will bond with them and not care too much which nest she is on and can be moved to a new spot with the chicks. Some hens won't adopt them at all and some hens will take them without hesitation. You just have to try.
Maybe you can put a protective cage over her or some wire around her so she won't get chased off the chicks until they bond.

I have been trying to find camping's pretty flower and I keep getting kicked off the wifi. :hmm

I think I'll definitely try that wishing. I'll keep an eye on her before sunrise o make sure that she accepts them. Heck I don't know why I haven't put her in one of my empty coops. My mind don't work anymore lol.

Forgot I took some pics for y'all. This pretty thing is growing by the well! About as big as a 50¢ piece.
