Yikes! Are those the things that dig under your skin?I've got chiggers on my feet so bad. I've been wearing sandals (best shoes to keep my feet from hurting and great for wet weather) and there are bites under the straps across my toes.![]()

I stood in that dang store for 5 min. just standing there trying to remember how to make it. I remembered heavy cream and that was it. Knew you were going to the farm so I said forget it.

Poor feet Camp.
Pears generally bloom earlier than apples, so your cold weather could be Messing up the blooms.@jane s chickens
My pear trees wont bloom. I have 3 . 2 of them being over 5 yrs. One is fairly new. 2 different varietys .Bought at the same time /size as apples and am getting apples for 2 yrs.
I couldnt use them winter and I have open pans for summer long as the babies are big enough. Its the not yet babies I use the heavy waters for .You have to have enough for your flock size. I think it's one nipple per four birds? Maybe three. Either way, that's why the babies need one more.
When it's bad hot I open the coop and they go into the woods. There's a spring back there. And they dig under the straw and wallow in the sand.
I prefer the nipples because the water stays cleaner, but you have to be extra careful because any debris will lock up the nipple. I've had to work on a few that were stuck and no water coming out. Remember that's how I lost a couple hens last spring?
