Granny's gone and done it again

Neighbors are having a sweet 16 party for a daughter. They have a sign up at the end of the road saying 16 and never been kissed. Not sure who put that up but I'm sure they will be in trouble lol

I read it Ally, sounds like you hushed them

The one dude is a jerk. I've never used layer because of everything I've read on BYC. I feel like there's too many egg problems. I haven't had problems with egg shell hardness other than its hard to crack them sometimes. And that's with flock feed plus free choice oyster shell.

I have never used laying feed. Cant really comment on it. I killed a couple of my hens by not knowing they needed calcium with the flock raiser though.
That whole argument over there was a mute point though as hens will stop laying for a while when moved to a new location.

Hi all, another rough start to my day. Robert woke up in great pain. I got crones out of him and when asked 1-10 he said 9. other then that he wont talk. I called GI dr. and hoping to hear something soon. Probably end up at er. I need air in my van so badly. Tom up all night. says he just cant sleep. I need to go out and open the barn up and if its as hot as I think I might need to turn the kittys loose so they can stay cool. I dont know what else to do with them. They were panting yesterday.
Poor Robert. How terrible. Hope the dr calls soon and you can avoid the ER. Poor you! Can the kitties come inside and get locked in a bathroom or something? Never mind... it's too much work.

86 in the barn right now. One is panting. What about the chicken coop ? Chickens will eat their food but maybe til the sun goes down or is that not too hot ?

I am about to get a potty mouth on another thread. There are some rude people on this site! I know I don't know everything about chickens and most I've learned from this site. Actually pretty much everything other than the basic food, water and heat. But there's no reason to be nasty about it.
Yes that's why I stick around on this thread. :) I try to help on a couple of pullet or cockerel threads, they get pretty busy in the spring, but the conversations are usually limited, so no problems.

Can't catch up. Had to put handle bars, tines, & guards on tiller. Storm yesterday bout destroyed my polish pen. Bent 1 of the top bars so wire across top & tarp are sagging. This is the 3rd side of the dog kennel I've had to reinforce with a piece of rebar. Trees down across our road. Didn't get to f Ed or pick up eggs. 18 in the nests ths am.
Oh no! Glad everybody is okay, but sorry about the coop. More work for you! :hugs

Frozen 2 liters are a great way to help keep them cool. Use to put them in the rabbit cages in the summer. You can even use smaller plastic bottles.

I wish chickens would use them. They don't like the new water container I got them. They were going through the gallon one by midday.

Edit to say the frozen bottles are for the kittens granny lol

Ally, dont worry about all that. Old means set in their ways. almost everyone that has done something the same way their whole life and it works for them sees no reason to change. Most dont care about the roos. you do. and thats good that you want whats best for them. Your not alone in that. Some people have very expensive roos and your words may help them out. That was just a fly on your shoulder, brush it off. :hugs
