Granny's gone and done it again

Alley, I bet that blue nail polish is why he was pecking you.
Maybe. He went after the side of my hand lol that's where all the meat is :lau
I have an Australorp pullet that is meaner than a rooster... I have a nice bruise/blood blister on my leg from her. If she wasn't at POL I'd eat her.
Ethel was like that unti after she started laying. Now she's the friendliest one.

I am waiting for paint to dry. Guess i will make lunch.
what's for lunch? And what'd you paint?

Having egg salad sandwich, and i painted the wood to build the floor of my chicken coop with. Beautiful weather today!

I'm sitting on the porch watching it rain for the umpteenth time this summer.
Send it this way -- we are SOOOOO dry here, which is ironic given everyone always thinks all it does is rain here......

Bought a $10 lice comb for DD. Got TONS of eggs last night. And one adult. Going to use lice shampoo again today. It's day 9. I feel like it's been months. Wish I could just dust her and move on.
BTDT - we had the battle of the lice last summer with DS, it was so frustrating. Best of luck to you. Had to laugh at the dusting comment, I had the same thought at the time.

Must be a chicken day for me. Went out to feed and water, check for eggs. There's a broken soft shell egg in the big pen :barnie they are a year old and I've never had a soft shell egg. Even when they started laying. It's freaking me out and puzzling me at the same time.
Honestly - it is no big deal and nothing to stress out about until/unless it becomes a routine vs. an oddity. There are tons or reasons that she might produce an shell-less egg now and then that have nothing to do with being deficient in calcium. I'd not bother making any changes in feed, etc over one egg...

LOL - been there myself with the coop painting project, literally watching paint dry.

Home today - the training this week is such a weird schedule......it's 4 days but is Mon, Wed, Thu and Fri. I thought about having them do the hotel for the whole week, but 1) might as well be home if I can (the travel time and extra time in training every day adds up to enough time that I have to "flex" 8 hours of time so not working either way) and 2) ends up I *will* be working for an hour or so as my boss had scheduled an assessment appointment today but had an emergency and won't be there so I am going in to cover that (bonus points for me, lol).
Headed back to the coast tomorrow morning and will be there until Friday night --- two glorious nights of peace and quiet in a hotel, right on the beach, all to myself :celebrate

Give her a bob hair cut.

Camping, you dont make my head itch . LOL Your DDs hair is so thick like my DDs and I tried for a very long time with all the meds, combs sheet washing over anf over for a solid month. This was many years ago. They say there is a super lice now. ?? I couldnt get thats comb all the way through and thought If I did it enough it wouldnt matter but I was wrong.

I'm trying to avoid the hair cut, but it's not looking good. The comb I bought is really super good, got way more than without it. Hoping more shampoo and more combing and we'll be done. I said today I should get her a snorkel and let her sit underwater for 10 minutes.
