Yea I can't blame the hawks. They're just doing what they have to do to survive. I do wished that they'd go after all the mice, snakes, and squirrels instead of the chickens though. What a bummer.2 days after I had my Belle dog put down, one of my favorite Seramas got killed by a hawk. I cried more for the hen because it was my fault... missed saving her by just a few minutes. At least the hawk did get to eat her. She got buried and will have a rose bush over her soon.
Dang Kiki... your dad must be OLD!!!
Hope they are not feeding him Cork sized portions!
x2. Stuff like that just happens. I tried to blame myself about the 2 that I lost because I heard my roo making racket. But I realized that I've jumped up several times that I've heard him and nothing was going on.Wishing, In no way, shape or form was it your fault the hawk got your serama.
Could it possibly be the heat outside? It's still hot here.Must be a chicken day for me. Went out to feed and water, check for eggs. There's a broken soft shell egg in the big penthey are a year old and I've never had a soft shell egg. Even when they started laying. It's freaking me out and puzzling me at the same time.
Sounds like you found a pretty good job when you moved there. Kudos.Home today - the training this week is such a weird schedule......it's 4 days but is Mon, Wed, Thu and Fri. I thought about having them do the hotel for the whole week, but 1) might as well be home if I can (the travel time and extra time in training every day adds up to enough time that I have to "flex" 8 hours of time so not working either way) and 2) ends up I *will* be working for an hour or so as my boss had scheduled an assessment appointment today but had an emergency and won't be there so I am going in to cover that (bonus points for me, lol).
Headed back to the coast tomorrow morning and will be there until Friday night --- two glorious nights of peace and quiet in a hotel, right on the beach, all to myself![]()
Red!Morning all. Finally caught up.
Wow, beautiful hair. Keep it if you can. Went through the same with my daughter years ago. Me and her were both crying when we had to cut her long, thick, brunette hair.
How you been Mare?Red!
It's a pretty good job - has been a HUGE learning curve and have spent most of the last few months feeling like I was barely treading water (what had originally been planned to be about 14 months of training and gradual progression became about 6 weeks and being pushed off in the deep end), but finally starting to feel like I almost know what I'm doing, lol.Sounds like you found a pretty good job when you moved there. Kudos.![]()
