Looks like I'm the only one here. Lost a hen today to a hawk.
Sweet dreams all. May be off for a little while ttyl.

Oh Red, i am so sorry! Had my favorite polish pullet taken that way, the bird snatched her up and all i could do was watch as she struggled in those talons. Never found even a feather from her. So sorry you lost a bird!

Ok I have a broody hen setting on 8 eggs if my count is correct she won't let me near her without raising a ruckus . Trouble is she's got them under a bush . Now the rest of my chickens are roosting on the back porch. They won't go down to the pen , most likely because I uncovered the fence on one side so I can take the fencing down to get the tractor in to address the over growth. Also it will be easier to get the materials into build this coop. Thoughts? Anyone ?

@willzpapa Ive made wire cages and staked them over a setting hen before. Wasn't ideal, and was a pain in the behind. Me, I'd likely just move her and if she stopped setting, oh well.

Mornings all, I am ok. No need for the po-po again ! LOL Those tolbunt polish are where I got my last tolbunt pretty sure its the same person who is real close to SD and she could do a pick up like she did before but $$$ . I cant do it. Besides my luck with them dont seem to make it worth it.
drs today @2.pm. Not looking forward to going and probably wont learn a thing. Just another lecture. Ya, I know .
Tom still hasnt noticed the back mowed. Its still raining here so it will be a min. before that gets done.
Company here is why I havent been on as much .

Granny, a lady semi close to me breeds them. She just had a broody one hatch eggs! I think she just put eggs in the bator again also. And I think she ships eggs!

Can you build a small fence around her? Throw bird netting over top?
