Granny's gone and done it again

She said she takes lots of breaks and always has a chair nearby.
I made a cup of coffee Camping and told them find something to do quietly so I could go out and sit with the chickens for a much needed break. 3 mins, 2 kids and a dog later I give up and come in where they were at the table with glue and cardboard but are now running all over the house dripping glue from their little treasures.

This, too, shall pass. :hugs just tell them to take a break to clean up while the glue dries.

I used to tell the kids I was having a timeout. I would sit in the timeout spot and everything. Just sit them down and tell them so.

"We need to respect each other's needs. I'm glad that would want to spend time with me, but I also need to spend time to myself. If you interrupt nana's coffee time and it's not an emergency, then I'm just going to assume that you need some extra chores to do."

Thats a good Idea, thanks. I did my kids one at a time . I have that woman coming at 830 and this house is a wreck. There aint thing I can do about it. I dont even have a clean table for her to sit at. Its loaded up w/ clothes.

Assign jobs! Tell them it's all hands on deck. Bigs can do dishes/floors and littles can do clothes/dusting. If they all work a solid 20 you'll be done in no time. Best worker gets to pick out a tv show/movie for the night.
