Granny's gone and done it again

Thats so sad. Did she fair well after that ? My step F lost his leg from sugar
She did last a few more years. She learned to walk on her prosthetic legs and never once complained. Of course she was raised tough. Lived on a dirt floor most of her life. About 20 years or so before the end of her life her son built her and my granddad a little 3 room house. Didn't have plumbing but at least it had floors. She probably felt like she was living in a mansion.

The weirdest thing just happened. DH and I are watching tv and I had just said "I don't know why I always stay up late," and the guinea hen comes screaming into the back porch. It's pitch black out there. I thought maybe the goats scared her. But she's jumping into the windows and doing the panic chatter. I turn on the light, open the door, and the dogs run straight out. Goats are quiet but Roxie's fur is on end. I can hear the guinea but can't see her. The dogs run by again and she flushed out, runs toward me then back to the goats, then back to me and lays down by my feet. :th

So I held her in one arm and put my pants on with the other, which DH got a huge kick of. Then I carried her back to the coop. The crazy part is that it was way after dark when I got home, and first thing I did was lock up the coops. They're all still locked, and all the gates shut. Spooky.

She probably wasn't in the coop when you locked up and something scared her. Coming to the house probably saved her life.
