Have you tried the acetaminophen/aspirin/caffeine formula? It's name-brand excedrine, but the store brand is usually labeled for severe headache. It's 100% the only thing that works for me. Plain Tylenol won't work, and I only take ibuprofen for muscle/body aches.

Might be worth having some of that around. My older son gets a headache occasionally. Advil doesn't work for him.
