Granny's gone and done it again

Took me an hour to ketch up reading lots of damage east and north east of here . Still raining so flood conditions. Nothing like the hurricane ravaged parts . Some houses are just flat about 5 miles as the crow flies.

Glad y'all stayed safe. :hugs

what did I miss ? whats wrong and what didnt you finish? I have never gotten 26 odd likes on one post. LOL
I got 50+ once :bun
You've never made sausage gravy & poured it over biscuits?
That's the best stuff ever...

:love I'll take the 5 extras.

I just went outside and I can see pink fire glow above the ridge to our east. That fire is over 5 miles from here and my biggest worry at this point. The tv keeps going out, I think because of the wind or smoke maybe messing up the satellite reception, so I have to rely on computer updates, which are slow. I am not sleeping. If I see flames coming over the ridge, I will wake everyone up and we will get out of here... head up to my dad's in case he needs help. oh boy. The wind is picking up.
Oh no!! :hugs

Hi. Real quick. We had to evacuate. Called my dad and woke him up and he got out. Kids and hubs and I loaded up all the animals and things we couldn't live without and drove 4 cars over to my sister's. Fire all around but not super close. Hubs and I drove back home. I am here now. The fire has crept over the ridge, but the wind died down some so things are slowing. 6 am here. Sun will be up soon and airborne firefighting can begin. Optimistic that we will be spared, but glad everyone is away safely.
oh, and how did we drive 4 cars with only 3 licensed drivers? I'll never tell!
Update when I can, but no worries, we are safe.

:hugs :hugs :hugs I hope your home is spared.

can you have them sign release papers ? We always had to. When DD was little they took her to the cemetary for a field trip.
"One dark and stormy moonlit night
two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other
Drew their swords and shot each other......"

Bad things are happening. I went out at 10pm with my very strong flashlight to shine around the yard to get Scooter to come back inside. It is very windy, and I could see all sorts of dust and big bits of stuff in the flashlight beam. Came in and told hubs it looked like ash. Turns out it probably was. :( 15-16% humidity, and very strong winds means we have been under a red flag warning. Just found out there is a large fire and several smaller fires in Napa county to our east. There is a smaller fire that broke out within the last 2 hours just north of us. Fortunately is is far enough away that I do not expect that we will be in danger. Unfortunately, it is dark and the Cal Fire planes cannot fly and also the winds are blowing toward us. It is getting smoky here and as far down as San Francisco. This is not good. Homes are on fire, people are being evacuated and rescued. All resources are being spent on saving lives... they aren't even fighting the fire at this point. It's going to get worse before it gets better. 24-28 mph winds and gusts to 40 blowing toward us until morning. I hope there are no embers flying our way. I will not be sleeping tonight, but watching the tv reports. It's bad. :hit
I would be out there hosing everything down. Are you able to pack up your critters to be ready to evacuate just in case?
