Granny's gone and done it again

I think Ms. Natalie (banty cochin) is broody! I'll happily let her set all the cochin eggs. :D I want to hatch but don't want to deal with the brooder.
I really don't mind young birds in the brooder. It has a wire bottom so no poop build up. Just have to keep checking food and water, and monitor the temperature. I sit down in front of the brooder and pick them up, pat them and check their butts each day. I rather enjoy babies.

Growing the older ones LOVE the Holey Buckets. Little ones just swim around in circles in the water fountain.

Did you see the swimming vid I posted? I have them drinking from coffee mugs (cage is too small for waterer) but now they're so big I'm having to fill it a hundred times a day. I need to move them out to the barn with a big pan.

I mind , I didnt want to use the heat lamp half the winter.

I love babies. It's the messy juvies I don't enjoy. Except my EEs, because they perch on my head/shoulders while I tend the brooder. All other breeds jump ship, at least here.

wow, sorry about the ling Camping. I have 8 serama mixes including the one I hatched in the cupboard today.
Cap, you think that smoke is causing your ear problems ?
Twist, how are your lings?
Nope, i have only just started burning fires since we moved here this summer. Actually, i was sitting with that side of my head toward the fire the other day and the heat felt really good. I seem to have a weird adaptation to smoke, the minute it blows my way i hold my breath and move away. It rarely makes me cough because i don't inhale it. I am going up to check the fires again as soon as i have my tea.
