straight from garden or store and then boiled until you can slip/peel the skins off and remove the tops and tails/roots. Then Cook until tender.

the beets, turnips I just wash and cook the roots. tops/greens go back into the garden soil or to the yaks

Put a couple tp rolls, empty can, tissue box, something like that for the littles to jump in.
