OMG bott fly maggots, that is beyond the GROSS catagory. Bott flies burrow into your flesh & lay the eggs inside you, then larvae hatch causing horrible infection. So, so glad we do not have them anywhere
They will spread if they sell them and the chickens don't get all of them. Not buying those things! They burrow under your skin.

:hmm

It really depends on what type of mites they are. Don't bring your chickens inside if they are red roost mites! They will crawl off the birds and lay eggs all over your house. Northern fowl mites are grey and will have big clusters of eggs on the lower part of the feather shaft around the tail. Ivermectin works well against both types, but you will need further treatment of the coop if red roost mites are the problem.

That almost sound too good to be true!

Pretty sure they are Northern Fowl mites, they are black and grey so I made that assumption. Just got the stuff that Banty recommended, that Gordon's 10% spray. I made a 1/200 ratio like the instructions said and sprayed the area down as well as a little on the birds. Leaving them outside for tonight, probably going to move them in in the morning.

Don't know if I should use ivermectin, I have tons of the horse stuff, but it is all expired :he
