Bott flies burrow into your flesh & lay the eggs inside you, then larvae hatch causing horrible infection. So, so glad we do not have them anywhere
The bott fly does bite, then it burrows into your flesh eewwwww........But at least they don't bite or sting like a lot of bugs.
It really depends on what type of mites they are. Don't bring your chickens inside if they are red roost mites! They will crawl off the birds and lay eggs all over your house. Northern fowl mites are grey and will have big clusters of eggs on the lower part of the feather shaft around the tail. Ivermectin works well against both types, but you will need further treatment of the coop if red roost mites are the problem.
That almost sound too good to be true!
