I have been pretty torn up over my chickens dying and finally accepting it is probably Mereks.

So far i lost a Polish cockerel and 4 Speckled Sussex pullets. There is another pullet on the way out. They just hatched in August. I have been pushing vitamins in food and water and going to get copper sulfate too. Really sucks because it will never go away. When i saw Granny thought hers might have it too, i just couldn't handle it.

Cap, i'm sorry to hear about your chi ks. I have lost 13 chicks from cocci. I wasn't able to keep the brooders clean during the snow storm & am still struggling since my hose has been frozen all week since the power was off. I haven't been able to carry enough water down there.

Sorry about your chicks, Jane. I don't know how I would manage in the cold like that. So much extra work. How many chicks do you have left?

8 are 9 weeks old & 8 are 3.5 weeks old.

Oh no Cap!

I hope they snap out of it and get on the mend. There’s been too many sick chicks here lately. Granny’s, Jane’s, Camps, yours and mine. That’s just too many.
