Granny's gone and done it again

Idk what is up there in our roof but i got sick of it today and went up there with mouse poison and that one bite stuff. The cats both went in there but didn't flush anything out. The critters were keeping me awake last night. I just wanted to get rid of them, whatever they are. I kept waiting for DH to do it but nothing happened.
Now in a couple days i can go in there with a vacuum and suck up the poo. That is where the ac unit is, in behind my closet.

have you seen the poop up there ? That should give you a clue of what it is .
