Granny's gone and done it again

About this time i spent about 2 hours clearing the driveway one day. Put younger son in van and got ready to go pay bills in town. Drove down the driveway, and tried to turn right onto the road. The road was all solid ice. Drove into the ditch with this big azz cargo van!
Got out, got son, walked up the long hill to the house. Called husband. "Dear, we are moving to Florida!". "Ok" he said. And we sold everything except what fit in our Toyota and our cargo van. That was the winter of 1992.
To be continued another time. I am getting droopy.

Actually we mostly shut them down and sold the fixtures. The economy was not so good there
Taxes in NS are compounded. You pay 10% hospital tax and 7% goods and services tax on top of the hospital tax, so it is close to 20%. The rent in the malls was high and so are salaries.
We also had to drive to NJ for our supplies, but that is another story about a drunken me , a tattletale and a millionaire.

what was the name of your stores ?
Parakeet Perch. That is what my Dad used to call the place i hung out when i was a kid. We would sit around on this wooden fence and he said we looked like parakeets on a perch.
