Granny's gone and done it again

silly question BUt how can something be "live on TV" when there is a 14 hour time difference.
Usually when something is "live" it is live for eastern time. They are still showing the opening ceremony here, have not lit the big torch yet. This has to have been filmed last night, or yesterday in Korea.

So if they are saying it's live, and you are watching them ski down a bright sunny slope, but you are in the dark, it's because their side of the world is facing the sun and ours is facing away. It can quite easily be live. Right now in Korea, it is around 1pm in the afternoon on Saturday.
