That's right they have sky high taxes in Canada like 40%
Actually pretty comparable to California for taxes. I’d get roughly 25% off my paycheck (get a few hundred back at the end of the year cause of tax deductions - transit passes and rrsp (401k) contributions. Pay 5% in federal sales tax (some provinces charge provincial sales tax, Alberta did not) and yeah we had property tax.

I was in the 50k/year ish tax bracket. (Made more up there than I do down here that’s for darned sure!)

Can’t compare apples to oranges on property tax cause values were so far off.
Found my card looked it up and the place in town is considered out of Group. Fuuuudge. So if I want to get seen I have to drive down the hill. Nope. Not feeling that.

I’ll stick with the stay at home and rest and pump fluids routine.
