nope all of my chickens are currently in Gen pop. The Annex is full of ducks and so is the brooder room currently.

Mine lay large but I sometimes get a few XL from the blue coop. But I think they are from the BSL or Australorp.

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone is fine and dandy. Nice weather here. Suns shining and working it's way up into the upper 60's today. Supposed to be 80 degrees on Monday. Slight chance of rain for the next week.
Daughter woke me up with a phone call this morning. She was sitting on the side of the road waiting for the sheriff's department to come out. A dog had ran out in front of her on the way home from work and she was unable to avoid it. Tore the bumper up on her new car. That'll probably be about 2 thousand to replace with a thousand dollars deductible. The dog was in the middle of the road still alive but couldn't move. They called animal control and they came and picked it up. Fortunately my daughter works with all these people. Animal control said the dog may survive. The dog had tags and had almost gotten shot last night for chasing goats across the street from where he got run over

There has to be a difference between C Queens and ISA browns. I wish you could order just 5. I did get one with crooked beak but not severe and ex l brown eggs and the most friendly hens I had .

after the killers I am just not willing to take the chance. on a sex link, nothing like loosing 40 to 50 chicks in a single day to put a person off them for life.

you can BUT a lot more expensive that way. The more of one breed the cheaper they are. The special is about 60 to 70 cents a bird cheaper.

I like the BSL but will never get a RSL. What happened that you lost those chicks?

doing good, eating up a storm. I honestly haven't been out to check on them for about a month. Goal is about 10-12 hens and 3 or 4 drakes.
