I was fortunate to have a relationship with my father in his later years. He was a very smart man except when it came to the bottle. After I got my first home which he helped me buy, he was able to teach me simple home repairs. I learned more from him on life and living then I ever did anywhere else. I paid 20 G for my house and he put down payment on it at $1500.00 . I loved my house and was very proud . A home owner all my own before 30 ! We did a lot of repairs there. Well I did with him showing me how.

Im glad you were able to have quality time with him in the end. That bottle destroys many lives & no family is exempt unfortunately.

A cousin is posting pics of large family gathering from about the early 40's and trying to get me to help name each of them. Of course I knew all of them from later years but trying to pick them out of that pic is hard. I can id about 6 out of 20 or so. Odd to see a photo of your family from that far back.

We love him too, miss all of you. I was hoping we would lay low this year because of the 2 wedding receptions last year & some other unexpected expenses. So you can imagine my frustration over the vacation plans. Was not expecting it & it changes everything for the year. Both dd's & spouses are going this year. Say prayers I don't want to strangle both dd's by the end of it. Last time we tried this it was nothing but arguments between the two of them. And that was only to for a weekend get away.

Where are you going ? Did you tell already ? I thought just him and your DD was going.

No, he did a very thorough exam and said there is rubbing going on. So not smooth like it should be. I think he did better than the Ortho doctor. I am going to do less, BUT i live in a loft at night and i MUST take care of the animals. However, i won't be going on long scenic walks uphill.

Good plan Cap, minimize where you can, do only what is absolutely necessary. The rest will be there when your knees are feeling better.
