Cipro is a pretty hardcore antibiotic granny. I’m pretty sure it would have knocked the crap out of any strep or scarlet fever bugs. (Not a doc - this would be something to discuss with his doc though!!)

It should help reduce swelling. The weight of the ice might hurt. You cool soak your foot in a pan of cold water instead.
