Granny's gone and done it again

Good morning all! I am also going to be out most of the day... errands and what not. Sunny out now, but it rained all night, so yay for rain.

Wow, the black pup is a monster. Makes Josie look petite!

First batch pic. There are several with the black dot behind the head.
Would be interesting to know if they are sexable by the color pattern... diffuse pattern male and the little chipmunk markings female. Probably just different colors entirely.

TBH I was hoping for a smallish litter (4-6) for Beth's first time. Seems like my wish is being granted
What was granny's prediction?

Yes, could be. If it helps at aall, I went to heroic measures to save a tiny in one litter. She never would nurse, I tube fed her until she could lap milk. She was always tiny, I did testing and could find nothing wrong.
Finally at 18 months we had her spayed, during the spay the vet checked her kidneys, because she kept getting UTI S. Her kidneys were full of cysts. She had poly cystic kidneys. We put her to sleep on the operating table. Very sad day.
:hugs That must have been hard, but appreciate you telling the story. Makes the loss of Mae and her sister a little easier to accept.

That would be cool. I’m going to keep a few  the 2 browns and maybe 2 dot heads. Take weekly pics.

I have no idea what colors these will produce. Daddy is buff and mommies are white, black, splash, buff and lavender.

Bye wishing! I’m waiting for it to warm up before I do outside work. Wish I had a fire!
I have to clean the kitchen then I’m heading out. A fire would be lovely! It snowed again this morning :thgonna check those chicks?

Yep! I was letting the air get warm so they’re not shocked then I lift them out. Maybe another hour.

View attachment 1288323 Four so far, and one cold baby pushed away from the nest so I stuck it back under her. Seven eggs left. They don’t appear to be cochin mixes.

I was thinking when looking at the pic first they looked pure Shona

nice looking chicks there camp
