Granny's gone and done it again

Speaking in broad generalities, most boys learn best when they can be active learners... doing something during the lesson... some physical activity, drawing, a game, building something, a puzzle. Sitting still and quiet takes so much energy for some of them, they can't focus on what is being said. Like spelling, give them some letter tiles and let them move them around to make words... they will learn!
Thank you. I will try to remember that when I plan my lessons. It sounds like a good plan!

well it's late and the time change is going to screw with me tomorrow. Beth got her can of "wet food" mixed with some puppy chow. So I am off to change clocks and then hit the rack.

I want to thank you all for your support over the whole puppy thing. And pray for no more drama.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening.

Good night , Sweet Dreams and warm fuzzies and prayers.
Good night, twist.

hahaaa! It's not the home life that's the problem, it's the school curriculum and teaching methods. You will run into it as he gets older. Since about 5th grade, I have had to go to teachers and ask for alternative writing prompts and research topics just to keep the boys interested. The teachers blamed the Common Core, but I don't know much about that. Just keep an eye out. If he seems disinterested in school it's because they are not letting boys pursue their interests! I will be quiet now. :duc

Thanks for the heads up. No one is pushing for meds yet, but since DH has ADD we’re pretty vigilant. I’m more concerned with DD, because she gets lost in her own head and has missed an entire page on a test, or written a perfect essay on the wrong prompt. She’s bright and rips through books like butter, but she has trouble focusing on math and science. She is absolutely me. Our little school still begins every morning with prayer and pledge of allegiance, and there’s a section in the dress code just for when rodeo buckles can be worn. But I know it’s not like that everywhere.

Get some triple zero yogurt for times like this it's good.

I don’t usually have an issue, but DH bought blue bell brides cake, so I had some. I don’t get super snacky at night, probably because I usually go to bed early.
