My mom hated DH from the word go. She was jealous of my attention, I guess, and mad that he encouraged me to be more independent. I decided to skip going home for my bday one year: I was working 6 days a week and it was a 3+ hour drive each way. She called and said if I was not home in three hours that she was calling the cops and reporting my car stolen. I spent the whole day crying in bed, but I didn’t give in. Afterwards she called to tell me I was an ingrate because I didn’t thank her for giving me life. In twenty years I had never done that or heard such a thing. It was the beginning of years of erratic, hateful behavior.

So very sorry Camp, we should never have to hear those words from a parent. I too had a parent that was very controlling & hurtful. It does crazy stuff to you that manifest into traits you wish you could change, but emotionally we are still feeling those hurts of our childhood.

did she treat your brother like that ? This is deeper then jealousy hun and all her problem. You have to know that. People that feel the need to control others normally have no control of their own lives and sounds more like a cry for help to me.

Nope. She said she “learned from her mistakes” with him. He was a drug dealer and living with wild women in his early 20s.

Just wish more young ladies felt that way. Sounds like you've done a great job.

I have people ask how many grands I have and I go none. They all tell me how great grands are. I can wait. If my kids meet somebody and want to have kids with them that is fine, but grands are not mandatory and they know it.

Know my husband wishing? though he did make me soup when I was sick. Soup from a can but he did it on the stove and everything!

Back to playing catch up. Poor peach has a very upset tummy came home to multiple accidents. She’s locked in the backyard while we’re run off for dinner...though it’s all cleaned up Jesse is afraid of das stench. Not sure what caused it but she’s not getting dinner tonight and we’ll have to keep a close eye on her. Just gonna be hard since tomorrow we also have to pick the parents up at the airport....

OMG Misty, I am so sorry. You were just a babe. My oldest dd was 16 when she got pregnant with her dd. She's always been a good mom, but it robbed her of her childhood. I can't imagine having a child at 12 yr old.
