Well tomorrow is Sunday. So i already cremated her. But i have treated them with everything i can think of and they get vitamins in their water daily.I am sorry, is there any way to get a necropsy. Or are you positive what it is.
Feed is in a metal garbage can? Need a chain and metal clips to keep the lid on tight enough. Once they find the food, they will keep coming and bring their whole family. Not sure what Im supposed to do. I dont have a gun. cant drown them.
Sorry Cap. That Mareks is a terrible thing. Kills them now or kills them later. Guess none of yours were vaccinated as chicks? So i went out to check the animals and close up for the night. Solo is sitting on the ramp, very close to the 60 watt bug light. She looks quite comfy.
And another Speckled Sussex pullet is dead. So i have 3 birds left of 12 i started with. Can i please catch a break?
Imagine you made the Gd a happy girlMe too, plus hubs & I spent the day thrift shopping with our gd for her early birthday present. She hit the.mother load today. She kept saying Nana, your not going to believe how much one of this or that cost new. She was very pleased with her haul.
Actually, they were vaccinated for Mereks. I always buy vaccinated chicks. But i guess Speckled Sussex are very susceptible to Mereks. I only lost one Polish but i have another with problems walking.Feed is in a metal garbage can? Need a chain and metal clips to keep the lid on tight enough. Sounds like a fun day to me. I went to Goodwill in Altavista today but didn't find anything i wanted. The thrift stores here are small and poorly stocked.Imagine you made the Gd a happy girl
They had a poultry event here several years ago, and a UC Davis vet was one of the star attractions. There was a lecture on Mareks, and from what I remember, the vaccines are hit and miss. She did not recommend the ones for home use, said those rarely worked. Hatcheries have a better success rate, but still can't prevent it 100%. If you think about it, it's a virus, so like the flu, constantly mutating and changing. I'm wondering do they create updated Mareks vaccines every year? Maybe the strain in your area is different than what the vaccine covers. Such a bummer.Actually, they were vaccinated for Mereks. I always buy vaccinated chicks. Some thrift stores around here are so poorly layed out you can hardly even walk through them, much less look through all the junk piled upSounds like a fun day to me. I went to Goodwill in Altavista today but didn't find anything i wanted. The thrift stores here are small and poorly stocked.
We do get a lot of wild birds here including quail and turkeys, ducks, geese, and the typical back yard feeder birds. Also Bald Eagles, Hawks, Vultures, and Owls. I found a dead robin in my garden the other day, idk why it died but i buried it. Everything was too wet to burn at that point. They had a poultry event here several years ago, and a UC Davis vet was one of the star attractions.
