Granny's gone and done it again

I saw that on the weather, how much rain is coming through Texas. I figured you wouldn't mind cooling off a bit, but yeah, you can have your hot weather back asap. :D

haha... One of our big dogs was such mooch. Rocky was half Ridgeback, half Bull Mastiff and he had an appetite. My brother gave him a spoonful of peanut butter one time, and Rocky was licking the roof of his mouth for the rest of the day. We kids were very entertained and he got a treat. Shameless that dog.

He was overnight at the vets one time, and my mom warned them to put a clip lock on his kennel, because he could get out. Apparently they didn't bother because no other dog had ever opened a kennel door there before. First time it happened almost cost Rocky his life, because after he set himself free, he broke into a bag of kibble and literally ate himself into a coma. They found him in the morning and pumped his stomach, but didn't have a lot of hope. Fortunately he pulled through. Wish my mom was still around so I could ask her if that vet charged her for the emergency procedure. :hmm
I certainly hope not, being as she warned them he could break out. There are questions I want to ask my mom also. Funny how it’s the little things that make you miss them so much.

My eggs haven’t lost enough weight I don’t think. I kept the incubator a degree lower this time because my eggs always hatch early. I do a dry hatch. I thought about putting something in there to lower the humidity but I forgot. I hope they do ok. No drawn down yet.

Yes, I feel like so much of the family history was lost when she passed. I think I remember the stories right, but then my sis or bother have a different memory, dad doesn't remember, so :idunno
When the boys started school, I surprised that we had to pay for them to ride the school bus. We never had to pay when we were kids!!! or did we? Something as simple as that and I can't ask her. :hmm

I don't think we did, but I can't know for sure if mom didn't write a check to the school. I can ask a couple of neighbors around here! They had kids a little younger than me, but was the same school.

I started working on the incubator! I got a plastic bin for the box. I cut holes , one in the side and two in the top for glass viewing windows. And i made a frame for the fan. I expect its going to be a few days before the ceramic light fixture gets here, i might pick one up at Lowes tomorrow. I have styrofoam for insulation. That is going on the outside of the box with construction adhesive. Excited to try it out!

Of all people here, I'm not surprised that you are building an incubator. You are going to have quail coming out your ears!

Actually, it will be a while before my quail start to lay, like 5 or 6 more weeks. Its guinea eggs i want to hatch. I get 4 most days, they are piling up! Those guineas need to make some keets to pay for all the feed they have been eating since mid July!
