don’t blame you. I got rid of 3 cockerels in the last 2 weeks. There are only 4 boys now. Each has his own girls.I had a bunch, thinned down majorly this past fall.

isn’t that how it always goes?Thank you, I think so. When I first started into chickens I wanted the birds that would lay the largest brown eggs. Then I got some EE's & I haven't looked back since.
I got tired of running so many seperate coops of different breeds. I wasn't selling chicks or eggs anymore so I decided I would go with a really dark egg color layer as my roo. That way it was a win, win situation for possible colors.don’t blame you. I got rid of 3 cockerels in the last 2 weeks. There are only 4 boys now. Each has his own girls.
Swedish flower ?the dark green olive egger that I have was a wesummer over a EE hen. You need a couple more Roos!
Why do you think that is? Easier to just go into TSC and buy them?So sorry Cap, its tough selling. That's why I don't do it anymore.

never expected that out of my own dd. Then there are some of my egg customers that request a carton containing blue & green eggs. You never know what floats someone's boat
Yep, our TSC never sold chicks beyond a 2 week window in Feb. Last year they went to selling from feb. thru to fall. It's hard to find that person that is interested in a land race breed anymore. Why do you think that is? Easier to just go into TSC and buy them?
I can’t wait to see what you end up with!I got tired of running so many seperate coops of different breeds. I wasn't selling chicks or eggs anymore so I decided I would go with a really dark egg color layer as my roo. That way it was a win, win situation for possible colors.
Me either, but my roo hasn't been covering the ones I've set under my broody hens so far. That's why I need to push him & a number of my colored layers & my 2 FBCM hens down to the 2 coops at one end & close off the divider door to the rest of the girls. Give him less to play withI can’t wait to see what you end up with!

I love a mixed basket. Those blues make the browns look better. It does with me at least. Some people don't like the blue or green egg color. Was shocked when my oldest dd commented about a dozen of eggs I was sending home with her. She said it was too weird & to take out the colored ones & replace them with brown onesisn’t that how it always goes?never expected that out of my own dd.
