duck weed. Beautiful ! My iris are up but the color is washed out. Not crazy about them but they were free. Vetch ?

In the pic, vetch is the very dark purple flower. It is a legume, so nitrogen fixing. This is a wild variety.

Oh, and it's not duckweed. It's some sort of odd succulent type plant. I turns red where it grows in the sun. The birds don't seem to eat it. I think it's invasive. This lake has all sorts of problems from people introducing things into it.

The father to be of Vaughn/penance showed up tonight a paid for the pup. Plans are still for Sunday pickup. He's a nice enough guy but still a "putz" in my opinion

Yellow iris at the swampy edge of the lake. The green lumpy stuff is floating water weeds.

Hubby hates Lupines. I like them. I found seeds from when we lived in Canada. Prob wouldn't germinate but it wouldn't hurt to try.

The kind we have is in the first pic, kind of reddish.
I was thinking of making a water feature in my entryway... I could get some of that and use it.
