argh was up at 6:30 am for some unknown reason.

Laundry going, payroll done, end of the month books done, tanking with brother done for the moment, dishwasher started, chicks ordered, and Angie/Gene lined up so I can go to farm Weds and Thurs of this week. pot and 1/2 of coffee drunk.

hi all, I slept 12 hrs. Right through SD surgery. thankfully things went well for her too . She is in recovery.

Since 2011 we have 3 former staff in or completed seminary and a whopping 7-10 others currently working as worship leaders, youth/children directors, or sound/media techs in their churches. We only have 400 kids a year, and 10-12 staff.
This is why camp is important: building spiritual leaders within the community.

Ok, that’s not the only reason that camp is important. In addition to letting kids run and play in the sunshine and swim and get their hands dirty with farm and garden, we teach interpersonal relationships through team building and problem-solving skills in group settings. It’s important in this technology age that kids learn how to eat at a table, pass the butter, make eye contact during conversations, etc. We emphasize empathy and compassion and nurture leadership skills. Every person’s idea or opinion is valuable to the group (and usually the crazy idea is the one that works).

We don’t allow cellphones or watches, so they can’t focus on what happens next. We don’t talk in hours or minutes, but “next” or “almost” (except kids who need the info for anxiety conditions like spectrum disorders or ptsd).

So anyway, camp is pretty important for lots of reasons.

...that’s my car. You’re the third to refer to it so. Our general sooper called it a coffin hauler....one of our foremen was asking the word in English haha also thought it was a hearse.
