They are not my favorite flower either, but the colors are beautiful on this one & it's a +++ if it has a nice smell.

I dont remember the smell.

I have never seen the verigated variaty. I would like those, mine are purple & ugly. I keep trying to get rid of them, but you know how it is with tubers. Just a tiny piece left & they are growing again lol.

My iris are starting to bloom yellow. I prefer the variegated so you have something interesting to look at after that short bloom.

Never saw variegated iris before. Neat!

I planted mine with bunny poo , but you could add composted cow manure or a good general fertilizer. I like Miracle Grow.

I planted them in the very worst dirt in the yard. Not chicken ? It would need to be top dressing at this point

Chicken manure burns stuff unless composted first.
