Camping, I had to walk away after reading this... makes my blood boil. Instead of ranting, and ooooh I could rant, I'm just going to say I hope you get satisfaction. And don't stop until you do. Bring DH in on it if need be... hopefully it won't come to that. You are right to stand up for your girl!
Oh, and that teacher is...
you know what I'm gonna say...
That teacher is
stupid!![]()
Granny, sad puppy is sound asleep on his bed. Hope he took out his contacts first.sorry, I saw it. Had to take care of a sad puppy first.

Good for you. Don't stop until you get satisfaction. A child should not be afraid of her teacher. Respectful, absolutely, but not afraid. And constant yelling like that, by a teacher, is a form of abuse. I would be sitting in that class until the end of the year to monitor. The teacher called me and was extremely defensive and adamant that she had no choice in the matter. DH and I are going up to school in the morning to raise all sorts of hell. DD’s story does not line up with teacher’s version, and guess which one I believe?
I kept my cool and the closest I got to strong language was when I said “This is BALONEY and you know that it’s baloney.”
This morning I asked DD to ask for a new form to order shirts. She looked panicked and said “if I ask then Mrs teacher will scream at me.” And I let that go, because I know she screams all the time and it’s the last week of school. But this is wildly out of control.

Out of curiosity, how many clip downs has DD got over the year?
That's what I thought.Zero. That’s how she earned the trip. It’s a reward for never showing bad behavior.
I don't know what kind of school your DD goes to but if saying the word "stupid", especially when not targeted to anyone present or known to anyone else present, is considered bad behavior I think the dictator in the office needs to be replaced.DD came home just absolutely broken-hearted. The situation is probably a misunderstanding, but the end result is that two days before the “good behavior” field trip to a go-kart ranch she had to clip down twice. So now she is ineligible for the field trip and won’t receive her plaque for never being in trouble.
Allegedly she was waiting in line with another friend and the friend sai “my uncle is stupid, stupid, stupid.” Then the friend said “my uncle is ...” and DD finished the sentence: “stupid.” The teacher heard her and made her clip down twice and told her she wasn’t going to the go-kart ranch. I am furious, and I have already called and left a voicemail with her.
I believe in consequences for actions, but I also believe that the punishment should fit the crime. Seems like saying “stupid” should be a warning, at least the first time.
