Granny's gone and done it again

ooh, 68? I would have to have a heater in the winter for sure. We were at Petco when I saw the guppies. I think there were females, but didn't pay much attention... to busy watching the male with the beautiful yellow tail. Males don't fight, then?
Not that I recall. I am not familiar w/ the fancy ones (blue). They might be fin nippers.

This is a BIG ol IF so probably shouldnt mention it but I have 2 tanks. Been wanting to take the smaller one down and set the 30 gal. up leaving an empty 15 gallon long. Is that big enough Alley ?
:barnie Don't the turtle tanks have to be emptied and scrubbed a few time a month? So much work.

One year they used a ton of our food “on accident,” so I also had to make sure everything was either organized and labeled or totally locked away.
:hmm I guess it comes with the job... and you are in the busy season. Fasten your seat belt for couple more months!

Guppies can manage water temperatures on either side of their optimal 74 to 82 degree range. They can bear temperatures on the lower side of the 60s, indicates David A. Lass of the website FishChannel.com, up to the higher side of the 80s. Despite this, it is always better to keep guppies in their favorable range.

Other Needs

Temperature isn't the only water-related concern for aquarium guppies. It is also crucial to take the pH of water into consideration. Guppies tend to react positively to pH levels of roughly 7.0. They also appreciate medium-hardness of their H20, but hard water doesn't usually pose a problem for them, either. Good water filtration and frequent changes also essential for keeping guppies strong and alert. Examine the condition of your guppies' water weekly.
